David Wofford

David Wofford is the Senior Director, Private Sector Strategy & Engagement for the Universal Access Project.

 David brings more than 20 years’ experience on policies and programs to improve workplace health for women and men workers and promote systemic change at the global and workplace levels. Before joining UAP he implemented women’s health initiatives for a range of USAID-funded global and country projects, ranging from Haiti to Egypt, Kenya and Tanzania, to Bangladesh, Cambodia and the Philippines. David partnered on worker health projects and business case research with organizations like Business for Social Responsibility, Levi Strauss & Co., Bayer Pharmaceuticals, the Better Work program and the UN Foundation. Previously, he worked at the International Finance Corporation of the World Bank, and held senior positions in the U.S. Government, including the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the White House.

 A graduate of Duke University, he has a master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism.
